Local Autonomy
Local autonomy relates to the right of citizens within a given local unit to be self-governed through democratic structures and mechanisms chosen by them.
Through local self-government, we aim at sustainable political, economic and socio-cultural development.
The program of the Association for Local Autonomy complies with the principles and standards embodied in the European Charter of Local Autonomy, the implementation of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania for local self-government, and the new Law on Decentralization.
